Ocala Florida Golf Course Communities

Golflink.com ranks Ocala as number 8 in Florida golf destinations. The Ocala area has the second lowest median home price in Florida. You can buy a home on a golf course here for under $200,000.00! Below are several Ocala golf course communities as well as others in near by Dunnellon and Summerfield.

Candler Hills Golf Course is an 18 hole, semi private, par 72 course. Candler Hills is a gated 55+ community located in SW Ocala and was built in the last few years by Pulte Homes. The homes are concrete block and from 1500 to 2300 sq ft of living area. Candler Hills has a pool, club house, health spar and restaurant in addition to the golf course. Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club is one of the Ocala areas finest courses. It hosted the 2009 U.S Women's Mid Amateur Championship. This is a private, 18 hole, par 72 course. The adjacent Golden Hills community consists mostly of homes built in the 1980's with some newer and older homes. The homes are from 2,000 to over 4,000 sq ft of living area. Prices are from the mid $200's up to the mid $400's. HOA fees are less than $100 a year. Golden Hills is not gated or 55+.

Country Club of Ocala is a private, 18 hole, par 72 course. The Country Club of Ocala is a very upscale gated community in SW Ocala. Homes here start at around $500,000 & go into the 2 million dollar range. This is one of the areas finest communities with huge homes on large 1 plus area lots.

Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club is a private, 18 hole, par 72 course. Some of the holes here are copied from famous courses around the world such as Augusta, St. Andrews and others. Golden Ocala is a large, gated and very upscale community that is divided into different neighborhoods, each with a different character and price point. Homes here start at over $500,000 and go to over 4 million.

Juliette Falls is an 18 hole, semi private, par72 course. It is located about 40 minutes west of Ocala in Dunnellon. Golf magazine has chosen Juliette Falls as one of it's top 10 new courses. The Juliette Falls community is very upscale gated community with homes starting over $500,000- and going to 2 million. It is not 55+.

Lake Diamond is an 18 hole, semi private, par 72 course. It is located in the Silver Springs Shores area just east of Ocala. The Lake Diamond community consists of newer block homes from about 1800 to 3000 sq ft of living area. Prices here can be as low as $100,000 for a foreclosure in need of work and up to $300,000- for a pool home with a golf course view. Lake Diamond is not 55+. The HOA fee here is around $80- per month.

Oak Run is a huge gated 55+ community in SW Ocala. Oak Run has 2 golf courses the Executive course, a 9 hole, public, par 31 course and the Royal Oaks, an 18 hole, semi private, par 72 course. Oak Run is a very large community of several thousand homes built from the mid 1980's to the present. Homes here run from modest, older, frame houses with vinyl siding to modern upscale block homes on the golf course. Prices vary by the size and age of the homes as well as where it is located.Oak Run is divided into neighborhoods, each with different style homes in different price ranges, with different HOA fees and services. Oak Run, in addition to golf, has extensive recreational facilities such as multiple fitness centers, indoor and out door pools and 2 restaurants, all within minutes of shopping and hospitals. On Top of the World has 2 private, 18 home golf corses, the Links and the Tortoise and the Hare . The On Top of the World comunity dates back to1982 and they are still building. Ocala Palms Golf Course is an 18 hole, semi private, par 72 course located in NW Ocala. Ocala Palms is not a 55+ community. Homes here vary greatly in size and price. Thi is a gated community with a club house, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and more. To see more about Ocala Palms visit my blog post.

Rainbow Springs Country Club is an 18 hole, semi private, par 72 course located in Dunnellon about 45 minutes west of Ocala. There is also a separate 9 hole, par 36 course. The Rainbow Springs Country Club is not gated and is not 55+. The community consists of block homes from 1300 to almost 4,000 sq ft of living area. Prices are from around $100,000- to the mid $300's. HOA fees are minimal. There is a fitness center in the club house with a restaurant, pool and tennis. Many homes here are available with pools unlike many other golf course communities.

Spruce Creek Preserve is an 18 hole, public, par 71 course in Dunnellon just west of Ocala. This course is nicer than you would expect for a public course combined with moderately priced homes. The Spruce Creek Preserve community is a mix of smaller to medium size frame constructed houses and some larger block homes. This is a gated 55+ community with a very nice club house and large pool. Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club centers around the Eagle Ridge Golf courses south of Ocala in Summerfield Florida. Eagles Ridge is actually 4 separate and different 9 hole courses. The Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club is a large Del Webb development. The houses here are from 1100 to 2500 sq ft of living area and can be of either frame or block construction. Prices range from $100,000- to $300,000-. The community is gated, 55+, with a huge club house and fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts and much more. HOA fees are around $120- per month.

Spruce Creek South is another Del Webb community that centers around the Links at Spruce Creek Golf course . The Links at Spruce Creek is 3 nine hole courses that can be played in combinations of two for an 18 hole round.  Spruce Creek South is a gated, 55+ community which is located south of Ocala in Summerfield Fl. The homes here can be either frame with vinyl siding or concrete block. Sizes range from as small as 800 sq ft living up to a little over 2000 sq ft. Prices are from as low as $60,000- to around $175,000-. HOA fee is around $150-. Spruce Creek South has a club house, pool and other amenities.

Stone Creek is an 18 hole, public, par 72 course located in SW Ocala. This is a new course built in 2008. The Stone Creek community is a new development still under construction by Pulte homes. These are block homes from approximately 1500 to 2500 sq ft of living and priced from $150,000- to $275,000-. Stone Creek is a gated 55+ community with a very nice club house with all the expected amenities and a very large pool. Stonecrest Golf Club is an 18 hole, public, par 72 course located in Summerfield Fl, about 20 minutes south of Ocala. The Stonecrest community is gated and 55+. Homes here are from 1200 sq ft of living up to about 2800. There are both frame and block construction with most houses being frame and stucco. Prices range from $125,000- up to the mid $300's. Amenities include a club house fitness center, tennis, indoor and outdoor pools and even a fishing pond. HOA fees are around $100- per month.

Summer Glen Golf Course is an 18 hole, public, par 72 course. Although it is listed as a public course, Summer Glen is actually owned by the residents who choose to participate in their equity program. This is unlike most Ocala golf communities where the developer or a third party has ownership. Summer Glen is a gated 55+ community. Homes here range from 1500 sq ft of living up to 2500. Prices are from mid $100's to the mid $200's. HOA fees are around $125- per month.
